Executives: new leaders at companies you care about

A new leader changes things. In their first months they pick new vendors, hire their own team and fix what their predecessor left behind. Executives shows you who just started, so you can be one of the first people they hear from.

The Executives page lists new senior appointments as they are announced: chief executives, finance, technology, marketing, sales and people leaders, and vice presidents. Fundz also reads SEC filings, where public companies must report leadership changes within days. Each entry shows the person, their new role, the company, and the company's size and location.

Why a new leader matters to you

  • Selling: a new leader reviews the tools and vendors they inherited. A new head of marketing, finance or technology is the person with the fresh mandate to change them.
  • Recruiting: a new leader almost always builds a team underneath them. Reach them before the roles are posted.
  • Consulting and advisory: a new executive wants quick wins and outside help to get them.
  • Account management: if your champion at a client just changed, or a new boss arrived above them, you want to know now.
  • Investing: leadership changes at portfolio companies and competitors tell you where they are heading.

Find it

In the left menu, open Events and click Executives, or go straight to Executives. If you don't see it, click All tools at the bottom of the menu.

Narrow it to the roles you care about

  1. Click Add/Edit filters (on a phone, Filters).
  2. Under Roles, pick the titles you sell to or recruit for, like CEO, CFO or VP of Sales. Add Location, Industry, Company size and Time Period as you need.
  3. Click Apply.
  4. Fundz asks if you want to save the filter. Click Save + Email Daily to get an email when new appointments match, or Save Only to just keep it.

To change those emails, or send them to Slack or the Chrome extension, click Manage Email Summary for These Filters above the list. On Pro and Strategic you can also type a plain request into the search bar, like "Recent CFO hires at biotech companies in California" or "Any CEOs from companies that just raised?".

Act on a new appointment

  1. Add the company to your targets. Click the + at the end of a row, or Add to targets on the appointment's page. The appointment is saved as the reason you picked it. Add to targets
  2. Reach the new leader, or their team. Under Related People, find the person and the people around them. A 1st badge marks people you're already connected to on LinkedIn. Click Reveal email to get an address.
  3. Congratulate them with a reason to talk. Click SmartSend on a contact. The draft mentions the new role, you edit it, and it sends from your own inbox. SmartSend
  4. Check what else is happening. The What's Likely Next panel shows what the company is likely to do next. New leaders often arrive around a raise, an acquisition or a hiring push, and the company profile shows all of it in one place.
  5. Keep notes in the Notes box, which saves as you type and is private to you, or click the heart to keep the appointment in Saved Events.

Timing tips

  • Reach out early. A new leader's calendar and budget fill up fast.
  • Mention the new role and one thing you know about the company. SmartSend does this for you.
  • If the company also raised money or is hiring, the reason to act is stronger. Your Daily Leads weigh these together for you.

Take the list with you

On Pro and Strategic, Get CSV exports the appointments that match your filters, and Push to HubSpot or Push to Salesforce sends them to your CRM once it's connected. Exports
