Notes

Write down what you know while you're looking at it: who you spoke to, what they said, what to do next. Notes in Fundz save as you type and only you can see them.

Two places to keep notes

  • On a company you're working, in My targets. This is the best place for anything ongoing: your notes sit in one timeline with every stage change, email sent, call logged and piece of news at that company.
  • On a single event, like a funding round or a new executive. Use this for a quick thought about that event while you read it.

Add a note to a company you're working

  1. Open My targets and click the company. If it isn't there yet, click Add to targets on its page first. Add to targets
  2. Under Timeline, type into Add a note and click Save.
  3. To record a conversation, type a short recap, then tap Called, Left voicemail, Emailed, LinkedIn or Met. The recap is saved with that entry, and the company's stage moves forward to match.

You can also just tell Ask Fundz: "Note on Acme: they want a proposal after the board meeting." If you've turned on HubSpot sync, these notes are copied to the company's HubSpot timeline too.

Add a note to an event

  1. Open any funding round, executive appointment, acquisition, product launch or crowdfunding offering.
  2. Find the Notes box on the page and click into it (it says Leave a note).
  3. Type. Fundz saves a moment after you stop typing and shows Note saved!. There is no save button to press.

Your note is there whenever you come back to that event. To keep the event easy to find, click the heart to save it in Saved Events as well.

Private to you

Notes are tied to your own account. Other Fundz users never see them.

What to write

  • Where things stand: "Emailed the new CFO, no reply yet."
  • What you learned: the problem they mentioned, their budget timing, who else is involved.
  • The next step and when: "Send case study Friday." In My targets, set it as a Next step with a date and it shows on your Today list when it's due.
