Zapier

Send the new companies that match your saved searches into your CRM, a spreadsheet, Clay, Slack or any app Zapier connects to, with no code. Each match arrives as its own Zap run, so you can create one record per company.

Who can use it

Zapier is part of the Pro and Strategic plans, because it connects with a Fundz API key. You'll find it under Account, Integrations & Alerts, Zapier.

Set it up

  1. 1
Add Fundz to your Zapier account. Fundz is a private integration, so searching for it inside Zapier won't find it. On the Zapier page in Fundz, click Accept the Zapier invite. You only do this once.
  2. 2
Connect with your Fundz API key. Create a key on your API keys page and paste it into Zapier when it asks. Paste it exactly as shown, without the word "Bearer" in front.
  3. 3
Choose the "New Saved-Filter Match" trigger, then add the action you want, for example create a HubSpot company, add a Google Sheets row or create a record in a Clay table.
You need at least one saved search with its email switched on

The Zap receives the same matches as your saved-search emails. On a feed such as Fundings, set your filters, click Apply, and choose Save + Email Daily. Without that, the Zap connects but never fires. See Saved searches and alert emails.

What the Zap receives, and when

  1. 1
Matches from all your saved searches on Fundings, Executives, Acquisitions, Products, Contracts and Hiring Intel. Each run says which feed it came from (event_type) and which saved search (filter_name). Saved search names are made up from the filters you picked, so build Zap paths on event_type rather than on the name.
  2. 2
Once a day, Monday to Saturday, early morning US Eastern time, Fundz sends the new matches since the day before.
  3. 3
Up to 25 new matches per saved search each day. Hiring Intel searches send every new match.
  4. 4
Each match is sent once. If Fundz learns more about it later (for example it finds the person's LinkedIn profile), the record in Fundz is updated, but the Zap does not fire again for it.
  5. 5
Missing details are left out, not sent blank. If Fundz doesn't have a value yet, such as person_linkedin_url, that field is simply not in that run.

Handling matches with a missing field

Decide in the Zap what to do when a field you rely on is missing:

  1. 1
On a paid Zapier plan, add a Filter step, for example "person_linkedin_url exists", so only complete matches go on. (Zapier's free plan has no Filter steps and allows two-step Zaps only.)
  2. 2
Or send those matches somewhere of their own, such as a separate Clay table, and let that tool look up the missing detail.

Good to know

  1. 1
The trigger doesn't use your daily API allowance. The Find Company action does: each lookup uses one call.
  2. 2
Want the matches in your own system without Zapier? Use the delivery webhook under Account, Integrations & Alerts. See the API reference.
  3. 3
Questions about a Zap? Email support@fundz.net and say which saved search and which step.
