LS Power has closed a $6 billion private equity funding round, surpassing its initial $4 billion target. Approximately $1.7 billion of the capital is earmarked for LS Power's planned acquisition of about 5 GW of generation capacity from Constellation Energy. The funding will support LS Power's investments across its private equity, generation development, and transmission development businesses. LS Power, founded in 1990, has raised over $19 billion in private equity capital to date and owns or majority-owns multiple portfolio companies including Clearlight Energy, Endurant Energy, EVgo, LS Power Grid, and REV Renewables.
