Description
Federal prosecutors accused Kalder founder Gökçe Güven of raising $7 million in April 2024 through fraudulent misrepresentations to investors. The allegations claim the fintech startup fabricated customer relationships, inflated revenue figures, and maintained two sets of financial records. Prosecutors alleged that the fundraising presentation falsely claimed 26 brands were actively using Kalder and another 53 were in live freemium, when many had only received discounted pilots or had no agreement with the company. Güven faced charges including securities fraud, wire fraud, visa fraud, and aggravated identity theft.
