GalaxEye, a Bengaluru-based space tech startup, has secured Rs 63.84 crore in financial support under the Centre's Research, Development and Innovation Fund. The funding is provided through optionally convertible debentures by the Technology Development Board under the Department of Science and Technology. The project aims to develop an indigenous satellite with OptoSAR imaging capabilities at resolutions finer than 0.5 metres, combining synthetic aperture radar and electro-optical imaging. The technology will progress from TRL 6 to TRL 9 and has applications in surveillance, detection, and target classification.
