Description
Furientis, a Los Angeles-based defense technology company, has raised $25 million in seed funding led by Benchmark to develop lower-cost defensive interceptors at greater volumes than traditional programs. The company has also secured its first government contract with the Department of War as an Other Transaction Agreement for prototyping and demonstrating its 100-mile-range interceptor vehicle. Benchmark General Partner Chetan Puttagunta is joining Furientis's Board as part of the financing. The funding will support expanded manufacturing capabilities, flight-test operations, and hiring to advance the interceptor program.
