Bayer has issued two tranches of hybrid bonds totaling €2 billion, bringing its total outstanding hybrid notes to €6.55 billion. The bonds carry 30-year maturities with coupons of 5.75% and 6.25%, and their hybrid classification provides an equity-like cushion while creating fixed interest obligations. Alongside this issuance, Bayer has also brought external equity into a newly formed entity holding its long-acting reversible contraceptives business by selling stakes to Apollo and KKR. The company retains full operational control while the financial investors absorb part of the funding burden.
