Abram Scientific has received a contract of up to $8.3 million from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to advance its CoagCare rapid, handheld blood coagulation testing platform for trauma settings. The funding supports the development of point-of-care diagnostics under DARPA's RAPIID program, which aims to develop shelf-stable blood analogs and rapid diagnostic tools. This award follows a $2 million DARPA contract Abram Scientific received in October 2025 for CoagCare system miniaturization. The CoagCare platform combines a compact meter with single-use diagnostic test cards to assess blood coagulation status in austere and resource-limited environments.
