Southeast Asia Disaster Risk Facility (SEADRIF) Insurance Company provides catastrophe risk insurance coverage to participating ASEAN countries. It is an instrumental entity to the SEADRIF Initiative. The Company is licensed as a general insurance company by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), under the jurisdiction of Singapore. ASEAN countries, home to 650 million people, are highly prone to disaster and climate shocks. Rising frequency in disasters and increased exposure mean that countries need to strengthen their fiscal resilience in preparation for sudden adversities. The SEADRIF Initiative, a regional platform established with ASEAN+3 (Japan, China, the Republic of Korea) endorsement, supported by the World Bank, provides knowledge, technical and financial solutions to help prepare for such situations.
