Additional Info
WATT Fuel Cell (WATT) has developed and is manufacturing one of the first commercially viable Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) systems on the market. WATT’s ImperiumTM Fuel Cell System creates power from readily available fuels, such as propane and natural gas, to provide environmentally responsible energy solutions to a range of power markets. Imperium’s Hybrid Power Management System integrates and manages renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar, and optimizes power storage to provide electricity from the most energy responsible source available at the time of need.
Founded in 2010 by a team of fuel cell industry veterans, WATT developed and patented their proprietary Additive Manufacturing Process (“AMP”). AMP utilizes 3D printing technologies to produce fuel cells, eliminating the legacy issues that have plagued the commercialization endeavors of the fuel cell industry. Coupled with WATT’s approach to the Balance of Plant (“BoP”) consisting of off-the-shelf mechanical components that have been time-tested and hardened, AMP enables WATT to produce cost effective, quality products for small-scale power applications from 500W to 10kW. WATT’s products are ideally suited for RVs and boats, residential homes, and industries such as oil & gas, rail and telecommunications.
WATT is manufacturing these breakthrough products in Western Pennsylvania, a hotbed of energy innovation for centuries and home of one of the world’s largest natural gas fields, the Marcellus Shale. WATT has entered into joint development and performance agreements with Erwin Hymer Group North America and Peoples Gas paving the way for the delivery of products to consumers in the RV and residential markets.
