Munich-based robotics company Robco has achieved unicorn status with a $1 billion valuation following a secondary share sale of over $40 million in employee shares. The deal involved existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners, Lingotto Innovation, Sequoia, and Leitmotif, alongside new participants including Cherry Ventures. The transaction doubled Robco's valuation from approximately $500 million following its $100 million Series C round in January. Robco develops AI-powered flexible robotic hardware for SME manufacturing applications and has sold over 1,000 robots to clients including BMW Group.
