Description
Dutch photonics start-up Photon Bridge has secured €10 million (approximately $11.2 million) in Series A funding to scale laser manufacturing for AI data centers. The round is co-led by the Amadeus APEX Technology Fund, managed by Vienna-based APEX Ventures and Amadeus Capital Partners, alongside European venture capital firm 360 Capital. Existing investors Innovation Industries, Faber, and the Brabant Development Agency (BOM) are also increasing their commitments. The funding will support Photon Bridge's efforts to make high-power lasers manufacturable at scale for optical interconnects in next-generation AI infrastructure.

About
Photon Bridge is a Dutch photonics start-up founded in 2020 and based in Eindhoven that develops semiconductor lasers for AI data centers. The company combines light from multiple lower-power lasers to create high-power optical connections for AI chip clusters. Photon Bridge's platform delivers up to 40 milliwatts of optical power and can be manufactured at indium phosphide foundries at unprecedented scale. The company plans to deliver first customer samples in 2027 and move into volume manufacturing from 2028.
