Description
Phantom GI, a Tel Aviv-based medical device startup founded in 2025, has completed a $5 million seed round with Pitango HealthTech as the lead investor, joined by RAD Biomed and RUNI Ventures. The company is developing PercStoma, a device that creates an ostomy in approximately 20 minutes using a single-needle puncture under local anesthesia, avoiding the need for invasive abdominal surgery. The technology was inspired by founder Eran Shlomovitz's successful treatment of a cancer patient with bowel obstruction using conventional medical equipment and X-ray guidance. PercStoma is currently under investigation and has not yet obtained regulatory approval.

About
Phantom GI is a Tel Aviv-based medical device startup founded in 2025 that develops PercStoma, a minimally invasive needle-based procedure to create ostomies in approximately 20 minutes under local anesthesia, eliminating the need for major surgery. The company was founded by CEO Ido Sadan, Chief Medical Officer Eran Shlomovitz (a surgeon and interventional radiologist), and Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Eliahu Bekhor. PercStoma uses single-needle puncture with X-ray guidance as an alternative to traditional abdominal surgery for ostomy creation. The device is currently under investigation and has not yet received regulatory approval.
Fundz sees it the moment Phantom GI raises, hires an exec or expands, usually minutes after it happens, and tells you who to reach.
