Description
Open Cosmos, a Harwell-based satellite manufacturer founded in 2015, has secured £300m in funding to expand manufacturing capacity and accelerate its intelligence and connectivity services. The round was led by European investors including Lightrock, ETF Partners, and Institut Català de Finances, with participation from Entrepreneurs First, two major international pension funds, and others including Convex Group and the National Security Strategic Investment Fund. The company plans to scale its ConnectedCosmos, OpenConstellation, and DataCosmos platforms, which deliver real-time intelligence and connectivity from space. Open Cosmos currently operates four factories across Europe with the capacity to manufacture one satellite per day.
