Description
The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has committed $50 million in long-term financing to Infrastructure Credit Guarantee Company (InfraCredit) through a 10-year unsecured subordinated debt facility. The financing will be disbursed in two equal tranches of $25 million each, supported by the International Development Association Private Sector Window Blended Finance Facility and the Concessional Capital Window. The capital injection is expected to strengthen InfraCredit's capital base, expand its infrastructure transaction pipeline, and attract more long-term naira funding for projects across renewable energy, climate-smart agriculture, telecommunications, digital infrastructure, healthcare, and transportation. Since 2017, InfraCredit has facilitated over ₦600 billion in long-term local-currency financing for 28 infrastructure projects and supported 14 first-time issuers in Nigeria's domestic debt capital market.
