Hestus announced a $7.4 million seed round led by Insight Partners with participation from Chalfen Ventures, Rock Yard Ventures, Garage Capital, and others. The San Mateo-based company uses AI to automate repetitive mechanical engineering tasks like translating design intent into sketches and constraints. The funding will support expansion of engineering talent, model advancement, and product development. Combined with a prior $1.5 million pre-seed, Hestus has now raised $8.9 million total.

About
Hestus is an AI-powered mechanical engineering design tool that automates repetitive CAD work through an intelligent autocomplete-style assistant integrated into Autodesk Fusion. The company's broader vision, called 'Mechanical Intelligence,' aims to translate engineering intent into manufacturable designs by capturing the judgment involved in mechanical engineering. With over 5,000 engineers already using its tools across drones, robots, industrial equipment, and consumer products, Hestus helps engineers focus on creative decisions rather than repetitive design tasks.
Fundz sees it the moment Hestus raises, hires an exec or expands, usually minutes after it happens, and tells you who to reach.
