Description

Comet, a Bengaluru-based direct-to-consumer sneaker brand, is raising Rs 98.75 crore (approximately $10.2 million) in Series B funding led by Belgium-based private equity firm Verlinvest. Existing investors Elevation Capital and Nexus Venture Partners are participating alongside new backers including Urban Company co-founder Abhiraj Singh Bhal, Bhaane Retail, and former Meta India executive Ajit Mohan. The funding comes over a year after Comet's Series A round of Rs 42.3 crore in July 2024. The company plans to use the capital for working capital, capital expenditure, and general corporate purposes as it expands in India's premium footwear market.
