Description
German deeptech company BIOWEG has secured €14 million in additional Series A funding, including €2 million in equity from Rabo Ventures, extending its Series A round to €18 million. The funding will support construction of Europe's largest bacterial cellulose production facility in Elsdorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, capable of producing 10,000 tons annually. Commercial production is expected to begin in 2028. BIOWEG's total funding, including €10.3 million in EU grants and €2 million from other sources, now reaches €35 million.
