Yuba Water Agency has awarded a $76.8m contract to a joint venture of Obayashi and Drill Tech Drilling & Shoring for the upgrade of key components of its hydropower generation infrastructure in the Yuba County foothills. The project focuses on the Colgate tunnel outage and includes the repair and reinforcement of the tunnel and penstock pipe, as well as the installation of a new protective valve system.
