Amsterdam has awarded a $3.29 million general construction contract for the boardwalk on the South Side as part of the Downtown Revitalization Initiative. The boardwalk, overlooking the Mohawk River, is expected to be built within the next year and will include amenities such as seating, open space, a splash pad, amphitheater-style seating, and public art, connecting to the Mohawk Valley Gateway Overlook Pedestrian Bridge.
