Thales Australia has been awarded a contract to build a new domestic facility to produce 155mm ammunition, with a funding of $316 million for a new factory capable of producing 4,000 missiles a year in partnership with US Defence giant Lockheed Martin. The company has also ceased employment of a former defence official accused of unethical conduct.
