Description
Qatar Electricity and Water Authority (Kahramaa) has awarded Samsung C&T Construction Group a $2.84 billion contract to build a combined-cycle power plant in Doha, which will produce up to 2,400 megawatts of electricity and 500,000 tons of desalinated water per day. The total cost of the project is $3.7 billion. The plant, when completed in 2029, will account for approximately 16 percent of Qatar’s total electricity and 17 percent of its desalinated water.
