The Office of Nigeria’s Auditor-General of the Federation has revealed irregular contract payments amounting to N197.72 billion in agencies such as the Rural Electrification Agency, Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc, and the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company, among others. The findings, disclosed in the Auditor-General’s Annual Report, highlighted violations including payment for partially executed or not executed contracts, contravening the country’s financial regulations and procurement laws.
