The Spanish government has initiated a tender to track illegal tourist rentals on platforms such as Airbnb, Booking, Vrbo, and Tripadvisor. Mabrian Technologies has been awarded the contract, offering the best price of about 40,000 euros per year plus VAT, significantly lower than the envisaged estimate of almost 300,000 euros for three years of monitoring. This will enable systematic monitoring of the supply in the main tourist destinations, providing updated information for the enforcement of sanctions by the autonomous communities and local authorities.
