Lyft agrees to pay $2.1 million in settlement over misleading driver pay ads
Contract Type

Description
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced that rideshare company Lyft has agreed to pay $2.1 million as part of a proposed settlement, following allegations of misleading advertising about driver pay. The company was found to have overstated potential earnings by as much as 30% by basing claims on the top fifth of drivers' earnings and including tips in the figures. Lyft also improperly promoted earnings guarantees, which the FTC found to be misleading. As part of the settlement, Lyft is required to change its advertising practices and make earnings guarantees clear to drivers.
