ICT Reverse, an environmental firm based in Morecambe, has partnered with Lancaster University to extract valuable metals from printed circuit boards (PCBs) found in waste electrical and electronic equipment. The partnership, part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), aims to develop bioleaching technology to extract precious metals from PCBs, making the recycling process far less environmentally harmful.
