Description
Copper, a Berkeley, California-based startup, has won the Induction Stove Challenge by the New York Power Authority and NYC Housing Authority and has been awarded a $32 million, seven-year contract to design, prototype, test, and install induction stoves in apartments throughout New York City public housing. The goal of the initiative is to improve the lives of residents by helping them avoid toxic fumes of cooking with gas and to spur a larger market transformation that lowers the barriers to induction stoves for everyone.
