Boeing has been awarded a $2.8 billion contract by the U.S. Space Force for the Evolved Strategic Satellite Communications (ESS) program. This contract aims to provide secure communications for nuclear command operations. The project includes the production of two initial satellites with options for two more, extending through 2033.
