Aspiring Materials has been allocated $15 million from the Regional Infrastructure Fund to build a $31 million commercial facility in Southland. This will be the company's first plant at full commercial scale, following a pilot plant in Christchurch. The facility aims to process olivine rock to extract essential materials while producing green hydrogen as a byproduct. The project is expected to create up to 200 full-time jobs at full capacity.
