Description
APTIM, in a joint venture with BWX Technologies, has been awarded a $1.4 billion contract by the U.S. Department of Energy to manage and operate the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and its associated facilities in Louisiana and Texas. The contract is for a five-year period with an option for an additional five years. The reserve, which holds the world's largest supply of emergency crude oil at 714 million barrels, will be managed by APTIM starting on June 15.
