Europe’s Leading Aerospace Companies Join Forces for Project Bromo to Rival Starlink

Europe’s leading aerospace companies, including Airbus, Thales, and Leonardo, are contemplating a new joint venture called “Project Bromo” to establish a competitive satellite enterprise to challenge the dominance of Elon Musk’s Starlink. The initiative is inspired by an Indonesian volcano and aims to create a robust European satellite entity, similar to the missile manufacturer MBDA. Discussions are advancing towards creating an independent organization that integrates their satellite assets, rather than enabling a single company to acquire them, resembling the structure of MBDA.
