Description

EQT has made a $2.5 billion takeover bid for Perpetual via a scheme of arrangement. However, Perpetual's board rejected the unsolicited proposal, stating it did not provide adequate shareholder value. The bid valued Perpetual shares at $21.64 each, but the board determined it was not in the best interests of their shareholders.

In a statement, EQT said the acquisition will be made through EQT Infrastructure V fund, which held its final close at €15.7 billion ($17.8 billion) early this month.
