What is AutoPilot?
AutoPilot is your AI-powered sales assistant that automatically identifies, qualifies, and reaches out to prospects at the perfect moment. When a company raises funding, hires a new executive, or makes an acquisition, AutoPilot sends a personalized email on your behalf—helping you connect when timing matters most.
Setup Wizard
AutoPilot's setup wizard guides you through four simple steps to get started:
Choose Events
Select which business signals should trigger outreach. Each signal type has different response rates and is suited for different sales approaches.
Companies that just raised capital. Best timing! They have budget and are actively scaling. 12-18% response rate.
New leadership appointments. New execs make changes in first 90 days. Perfect timing. 8-12% response rate.
M&A activity. Post-acquisition = integration needs and new initiatives. 6-10% response rate.
New product announcements. Shows innovation and growth mindset. 5-8% response rate.
Major deal wins. Revenue = budget. They're growing and may need your help. 7-11% response rate.
Target Audience
Define your ideal customer profile (ICP). AutoPilot uses these filters to ensure you only reach out to relevant prospects.
C-Suite, VP Level, Director, Founders
SaaS, FinTech, Healthcare, etc.
United States, UK, Canada, etc.
1-50, 51-200, 201-500, 501-1000, etc.
Targeting the Right Companies
- Set company size to 10–500 employees. Enterprise companies (SAP, JP Morgan, etc.) have long procurement cycles and rarely convert through automated outreach.
- Founder-led, growth-stage companies convert best. Especially those that recently raised funding—they have budget, urgency, and decision-makers who answer email.
- Use the Exclude list to block specific companies you've already contacted or don't want to reach.
Connect Email
Connect your Gmail or Outlook account so AutoPilot can send emails on your behalf. All emails appear in your Sent folder and replies come directly to your inbox.
We use secure OAuth authentication. We never see or store your password. You can revoke access at any time.
Review & Launch
Review your configuration summary, set your daily email limit and send window, then launch AutoPilot.
Control how many emails AutoPilot sends per day. Start conservative (25) for testing.
Choose when emails are sent (e.g., 9am-11am ET). Emails are spread naturally throughout this window.
Lead Sources
AutoPilot can pull leads from three different sources. Enable multiple sources to maximize your outreach opportunities.
AI Daily Leads
Every morning, our AI analyzes thousands of companies and scores them based on your targeting preferences. These GPT-scored leads are ranked by buyer intent and delivered fresh each day. Perfect for discovering new companies you wouldn't find otherwise.
Business Signals
Real-time events filtered by your ICP criteria. When a company in your target market raises funding, hires an executive, or makes an acquisition, AutoPilot identifies the right contact and sends personalized outreach automatically.
Tracked Companies
Companies you're actively monitoring in your Tracked Companies list. When these specific accounts have business events, AutoPilot prioritizes them for outreach. Great for target accounts you're already pursuing.
Managing AutoPilot
Active / Running
When active, AutoPilot continuously monitors for new signals and sends emails according to your daily limit and send window. You'll receive a daily summary of emails sent.
Pause AutoPilot
Temporarily stop outreach without losing your configuration. Perfect for vacations, conferences, or when you need to adjust your targeting. Resume anytime with one click.
Edit Configuration
Click "Edit Mode" to update any part of your AutoPilot configuration—signal types, filters, email templates, or daily limits. Changes take effect immediately.
Customizing Your Templates
Each signal type has its own message template. Go to Settings → Templates tab to edit them independently—your funding message can sound very different from your exec-hire message.
Available Merge Variables
Insert these placeholders anywhere in your subject line or body—AutoPilot replaces them with real data before sending:
{{first_name}}Prospect's first name{{company_name}}Target company name{{signal_type}}e.g. "funding round" or "exec hire"{{funding_amount}}Amount raised (funding signals){{job_title}}New hire's title (exec hire signals){{sender_name}}Your name"Regenerate with AI" Button
After editing a template, click Regenerate with AI to have the AI rewrite your draft while preserving your intent. It cleans up awkward phrasing, improves flow, and keeps it concise. You can regenerate as many times as you like—your original is never overwritten until you save.
Template tip
Keep every message to 3–4 lines. Reference one signal only (not "you raised funding AND hired a new VP"). End with one clear, low-friction ask—a quick call, a yes/no question, or a resource link.
Making It Sound Like You
The best-performing messages feel human—not templated. Here's how to keep AutoPilot's outreach in your voice:
- Write the first draft yourself. Open the template editor and type a message exactly how you'd say it to someone you just met. Don't polish it. Then hit Regenerate with AI to clean it up.
- One signal, one message. If you're writing a funding template, only mention the funding—don't pile on other context. Focused messages get more replies.
- Use short paragraphs with white space. Dense blocks of text get skimmed or ignored. Two sentences, line break, one ask.
- Adjust AI tone in Settings. If the AI output consistently sounds too formal or too casual, update your tone preference in Settings → AI Style. Options include Professional, Conversational, and Direct.
Sequence Setup
AutoPilot supports multi-step sequences so a single signal can trigger a coordinated follow-up cadence—not just one email.
Step 1 — Initial Outreach
Sent immediately when a qualifying signal is detected. This is your first touch: short, relevant, and tied to the specific event.
Step 2 — Follow-up
Sent after delay_days (e.g. 4 days). A brief bump that acknowledges they may have missed the first email. Keep it even shorter than Step 1.
Step 3 — Final Touch
Last attempt, typically 7–10 days after Step 2. Often framed as a "closing the loop" message. After this step, the contact is marked as complete.
Automatic reply detection. If a prospect replies at any point in the sequence, AutoPilot stops sending immediately. You'll never double-message someone who already responded.
Tips for AutoPilot Success:
- Start with Funding: Funding rounds have the highest response rates (12-18%). They're the best signal for most B2B sales.
- Be specific with targeting: Narrow your industries and company size to improve relevance and response rates.
- Start conservative: Begin with 25 emails/day and increase as you optimize your messaging.
- Monitor your responses: Check your inbox regularly—replies come directly to you, not AutoPilot.
- Use multiple lead sources: Enable AI Daily Leads + Business Signals for maximum coverage.
- Personalize your templates: Add your value proposition and customize the messaging for your industry.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Will recipients know the email was automated?
No. Emails are sent from your actual email account and appear completely personal. There's no "sent via AutoPilot" footer or indication of automation.
How does AutoPilot find contact information?
We use Apollo.io integration to find verified email addresses for decision-makers at target companies. We only reach out when we have high-confidence contact data.
Can I customize the email templates?
Yes! AutoPilot starts with proven templates, but you can fully customize the subject line and body. Use merge fields like {{first_name}}, {{company_name}}, and {{funding_round}} for personalization.
What happens if someone replies?
Replies go directly to your inbox—just like any normal email. AutoPilot sends from your account, so the conversation continues naturally with you.
