The Australian image generation start-up Leonardo Ai has raised $US31 million ($47 million) from investors in two tranches as it races to distinguish itself from rivals working from similar technology foundations.

Today, the AI art production platform for consumers and enterprise users announced a $31 million USD round from investors including Blackbird, Side Stage Ventures, Smash Capital, TIRTA Ventures, Gaorong Capital and Samsung Next.
