Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov announced that the company secured $330 million in investment through oversubscribed bond sales. Durov mentioned that the offering had favorable terms and the participation of global funds with impeccable reputations.

Telegram is still not profitable and the new financing is aimed at taking it closer to the “break-even” point, said Durov, claiming that his app was “closer to profitability in absolute numbers” than competitors including Twitter and Snap.
