Description
Cohere is in advanced talks to raise between $2 billion and $3 billion at a $20 billion valuation, marking a nearly threefold increase from its $7 billion valuation twelve months prior. The Canadian government is participating directly through its Sovereign AI Compute Strategy, with Ottawa committed to up to CA$240 million as part of the $2 billion program designed to build domestic compute capacity. This would represent the largest funding round on record for a private Canadian startup if it closes. The deal is not yet finalized and terms could shift.
